Set design Nuestra Belleza Baja California 2012

'Nuestra Belleza' is a nation wide Mexican beauty contest, candidates are selected previously in each of the 31 states of the Mexican Republic, the set design was for the state of Baja California. The design of the scenery was part of a contest launched by Televisa, mexican TV channel and principal sponsor.

The principals challenges of this project was that the construction of the set had to stick to a budget and a short assembly time in site based on the rules within the theater.
Within my main responsibilities were the following:

Concept and design of set proposal
Drafting construction diagrams and details
Assistant of construction coordinator

Additional Credits: Construction team and supervisor Alfredo Santana from Televisa Tijuana TV Channel, lighting and sound technicians from Centro Cultural Tijuana (CECUT).

 
The staircase was one of the most important elements, it was prefabricated in a workshop and assembled and retouched on the site.
