My name is Katherine Murphy and I am a recent graduate from California Polytechnic University San Luis Obispo now living in San Francisco. I am currently a Designer at Korth Sunseri Hagey Architects, and am keeping active in logging IDP hours and beginning my licensing exams. The profession has so many different areas and opportunities, and I am excited to expand my knowledge and learn how to work collaboratively towards a final project.

I continued my work as a full-time intern where I assisted on updated projects, building models, creating diagrams, and editing and creating plans. I joined on site visits, project meetings with clients, and city council meetings in Ventura. the projects I was a part of were mainly in the construction document and design planning stage, and I was able to add significant hours to my IDP log.

I worked full-time as a general intern, I was involved in many different projects at various stages. This particular summer I worked mainly on creating a large site model for an upcoming project. The model including freeways, streets, blocks, buildings, and parks, and was designed to be a base for the resulting design to be added to. I also assisted in general office work, from organizing materials library to helping to assemble RFPs and RFQs.

As an intern I assisted in the visual editing of preliminary design solutions, as well as compiling and editing project descriptions for RFQs.

During my architecture schooling, I was an active part of the local AIAS chapter, and served as Project Manager for our Freedom By Design committee. As project manager, I helped the chapter be established and we were able to successfully complete a project for a local family.
