About

After studying journalism and photography in Berlin/Germany, Karin moved to New York in 1986, which became her base for the past 28 years.

Starting out in men's fashion, she added architectural and travel photography (for clients such as American Express, Four Seasons Resorts, Marriott, Diner's Club and Spa Finder Magazine) to her expertise.

Assignments from German Vogue and Architectural Digest followed soon after, where she is known for her celebrity portraits and interiors, two fields she enjoys for their fast pace, interesting subjects and many challenges.

Karin’s favorite subjects are "Celebrities at home", including portraits and architectural details of people and their places like Christie Brinkley, Hana Soukupova, Bobbi Brown, Brooke Shields, Tova and Ernest Borgnine, Marc Ecko, Colin Cowie and many more.

Recent creative advertising, marketing and editorial campaigns in New York have included work with top design, architecture, art and collectibles brands DDC Showroom, Cristina Grajales, Sebastian+Barquet and Valerie Goodman Gallery; Jacques Jarrige and Paul Matthieu; Morris Adjmi Architects and Laguarda.Low Architects. Kohlberg bases her studio in New York's Flower District.
