My name is Karina E. Mercado. I have been in the architecture/construction field since 1999. After graduating from Parsons School of Design in NYC I pursued my architectural career in various A/E firms. I was lucky to start in great companies that specialized in high end design. This gave me a broad exposure of clients and construction techniques.
I have worked in residential, commercial, retail, multi-housing, and now healthcare design. In my present position I am the person who manages our floor plans archives for eight hospitals and many other properties owned by Orlando Health. I design spaces for doctors, administration and patient use. I have implemented new was to manage our data base. Also one of my task is to keep our Life Safety current.
At this point I am looking for and architectural or engineering firm to continue my growth and hopefully to stay for years to come. I was one of the fortunate people that during the recession found this job fairly quickly after losing my previous job at Cuhaci & Peterson.
I am a very fast learner and love working with teams. Always looking to help or to give advice when needed.
I have a very unique position at the moment, but I have taken it to its full potential in the last four years. I want to go back to the architecture world and bring my healthcare knowledge. I want to keep enriching my career and learn from my peers as well as keep taking classes, seminars and training that architectural and construction fields have to offer.
I will be glad to sit down and discuss further. Thank you for your time and consideration.
