Spring 2016 Advanced design studio project

The suburban single-family house, more than any other object, is the symbol of success in America. It the preeminent representation of its owner’s aspirations; it functions to construct individual identity and register personal achievement. To own a home is to live the Dream. The project is an opportunity to propose other possible forms of suburban dwelling and deliver smarter options to an audience ready to entertain alternatives—even if still hopeful that those alternatives will provide them with the status, services, and space to which they have become
accustomed.
