Dear Architecture Studio,
I hereby present to you my formal application to work as an Architect at your atelier. I’m currently seeking out new challenges within my career so that I expand my knowledge and grow in the architectural field.
I’m from Porto in Portugal and I finished my Masters in Architecture in 2015. Therefore I had the opportunity to collaborate as an Architect with some architectural ateliers for nearly 3 years, amongst which I highlight Camilo Rebelo Studio.
Formerly I was working on interesting architectural programs such as villas, clinics, hotels, museums and a cine-theatre, just as I was involved in contemporary art, jewellery design and the construction of an eco village house. Lately I’ve taken a gap period so that I could travel, study and explore other facets of life.
My experience provided me with an intimate insight into the reality of a project throughout all its stages, from the concept to the execution. I do have training and experience in working with CAD and BIM software.
I’m able to work on any project stage and I’m especially skilled at what is involved in the overall creative process: idea, concept, shape, materiality, programme and function. I’d be thrilled to learn more about your architectural practice and demonstrate how I may assist you in accomplishing your excellent mission.
I’m sure that I can contribute consistently to your studio as a valuable asset who’s always looking to find new creative, aesthetic, sustainable and innovative solutions in response to the high demands of the now. I hope you take joy in my portfolio and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

STUDIO STOA, Porto, Portugal, Intermediate Architect
I joined Studio Stoa for a short time designing the main project they had at hands, Hotel Bessa Baixa Porto. It is amongst the best hotels to stay in the Unesco worldwide heritage downtown of the city, where I originally come from. I had the opportunity to work on its execution project designing technical, detailed and furniture drawings. I had influence on some interesting decisions and improvements of its overall design project. Here, I also had opportunity to work on the execution project of a Dentist Clinic, in Marco de Canaveses, Portugal.
HOUSE OF MUSIC FOUNDATION, Porto, Portugal, Front of House Assistant
House of Music Foundation of Porto was the most relevant earlier set work I experienced while studying. The cultural program erudition I was privileged to assist and attend added significant value to my education. The equipment is a public cultural building, the main concert hall in the city of Porto, projected by the architect Rem Koolhas and his London studio OMA in 2005. This opportunity has allowed me to gather unique social, personal and professional skills.
JOSÉ ALMEIDA ARCHITECT, Porto, Portugal, Intermediate Architect
I was pleased to be invited by a colleague, Jose Almeida, for a short collaboration with his architectural studio. We participated in a Mangualde council competition, a small village in Portugal, for the rehabilitation project of its now abandoned Cine-theatre. The project moved forward and is now going to be constructed. My work mainly concerned the thinking, drawing and modelling processes of the first conceptual project stages. Mangualde Cine-theatre is a cultural public heritage building and an icon of Portuguese modern architecture, designed by the illustrious architect Francisco Keil do Amaral in 1947-48.

The knowledge I gathered through this time is one of the major influences of my architectural thought, in terms of doing real life architecture projects with a high standard of exigency and creativity. The job at the studio allowed me a direct contact with the reality, from housing and cultural equipment projects to space intervention and art installations, which gave continuity to my apprenticeship. I started working here early in my career as a dissertation student and this internship has made up a remarkably worth experimental period of contact with the extra scholar reality, for me. This happened due to a necessity and curiosity of discovering the professional world and work with architects to complement questions, doubts, motivations e inquietudes regarding the area.
