I'm a recent graduate of Kent State with a Bachelors of Science in Architecture. I'm looking forward to going back to get my Masters of Architecture next year at Kent. I am currently working with Isaac V. Norris and Associates in Grand Rapids, MI. We are a small firm and we focus a lot on improving the community. I'm currently working on designs for a new building for the Grand Rapids Urban League, and a remodel for a group starting an educational workshop in the field of media communications.

I am currently working for IVNA as an intern. I create a lot of presentation materials and graphics for the firm. I am also the resident 3D Digital Modeler utilizing sketch up. Other duties include field reports for projects in construction, AutoCAD drafting, research, and interfacing between clients and subcontractors.

I started this business myself in high school as a landscape construction business and passed it off to my father who turned it into a custom home business. Through this company I worked many different aspects of our industry from sales to design to general construction and ended my time there as a supervisor. As a supervisor, I and two employees worked with customers directly to finish small projects. I learned a lot about project management and problem solving at that level.

While working towards my bachelors at Kent, I spent time with this landscape design company doing construction drawings and site measurements. I learned a lot about estimating costs of a project here. I did some minor design revisions under a lead designer at the company.

While earning my Bachelors at Kent, I was fortunate enough to spend a semester abroad with their Florence Program. The experiences and education were a life changing experience.
CAED Eco-Shelter competition, 3rd Place
Students were challenged to create livable shelters from recycled materials. My group created a structure from pallets. We insulated the pallets with recycled newspapers and used a discarded plastic drop cloth as its skin. We implemented day lighting through plastic bottles full of water embedded in the ceiling. Our form allowed for a wall outside in which food could be grown by its inhabitants.
