About

I am Jungjae Park, an architectural designer with over 12 years of experiences across multiple offices in US and South Korea and located in Los angels, California. Additionally, I am a licensed architect in the state of New York.

Experience from the office with strong design culture is the key aspect I can bring into the team. During my time at Morphosis architects, a high-profile office with design-oriented culture, I worked from concept to construction phase on multiple projects. I produced sophisticated digital models and detailed drawings with Rhino3D, MicroStation and Revit, coordinated between experts with their knowledge and our team to maintain and develop the design intention and managed series of deadlines under very intensive client’s requests.

Interdisciplinarity has always been the foundation of my design experience as well as academic background and I can help design intentions to be more elaborated with it. I believe a good design can bridge urban landscape, architecture and people. During my time at Sasaki associates, I had chances to work seamlessly with landscape designers to design a podium structure of the office tower, functioning as the physical container of landscape architecture. Also, in the recent experience at Morphosis, I have been working on a mega architecture/urban planning project as size of city in Saudi Arabia, which integrates open spaces and architectures within the structure of 3200m long and 500m high.

Implementation of sustainability and computational design have supplemented the design of each project I have worked on. I was a core part of the leaders’ group for both in Sasaki and developed a series of environmental analysis tools and plug-ins by using grasshopper to help the team to analyze and test the environmental aspects in projects. My team, by using those tools, could bring more holistic and integrated problem-solving capacity for projects like Universidad de Lima and Salud Digna Campus.

Insight into economic and cultural trends is one of many aspects I have gotten from diverse experiences from different cultures in many years. Especially, I learned lessons from many residential complex and master planning projects experiences in CJ Architects (Seoul, Korea), regarding how economic and cultural trends influence design decisions of residential projects as products by user(buyer)’s demands. These experiences trained me how to read these changing trends and demands and to set up strategies to utilize them as opportunities.

I believe my experiences and skills can elaborate projects at different phases and scale and it would be a beneficial asset to your office and the team.
