It is no surprise that I decided to be an architect, as I come from a family of many creative architects, designers and artists. Back in 2008 when I was spending time with my aunt in San Diego, I had my first connection with architecture. She is an architect and took me with her to spend a day in her office. I was still a teenager but I was fascinated by the energy in the office. My aunt gave me a tour and showed me some projects, processes and references. At the time, I was spellbound by the sample library – I felt like a kid in a candy store! The visit was pivotal for me and it became clear that being an architect was what I wanted to do.

As a background, I was born in the USA but grew up and studied in Brazil. I am 25 years old and have
recently received my bachelor in architecture at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), a renowned architecture school in Brazil. In my third year, through a federal program, I had the honor to be selected for a one-year academic program in Madrid, Spain, at the University of Alcala de Henares. That experience was very valuable for me, as it was the first time that experienced living by myself, got to experience another culture and educational approaches, and had the chance to travel all around Europe and see in person all those monumental buildings that I had studied. It was a year of great personal and professional growth.

I also have significant practical work experience, as I have been doing part-time internships in architectural firms since 2013, as in Brazil the internship programs are not just in the summer, but all-year round, 6 hours a day. Therefore I have experience in interior design, urban planning and brand design.
