An interior renovation hinging on the motif of the high pace kitchen work
that takes place behind closed doors became the inspiration that
informed a distorted superfluous flare derived from a formal exercise
using parametirc algorithms. A gradient effect was designed to give
depth and motion. Consisting of a three layer system - each layer was
designed with a slight ‘visible’ veiled offset only made apparent by the
change in surface color - red, orange, and yellow. Unapparent, was the
mirror surface feature onto which the restaurant’s new spatial identity
were placed upon. Reversing the color arrangement on the opposite
side gave the illusion on profound physical ‘visual’ depth.
