Michael Beitz Art, Jamestown, CO, US, Student Intern
Community project for Jamestown, Colorado that involved designing and constructing a large picnic table shaped as an anvil (an iconic symbol for the town). The project was in conjunction with a CU, Boulder Course, Art: Aesthetics to Engineering, and lead by artist Michael Beitz. Tasks included creating a digital model to precisely CNC cut a template, constructing and painting the table, and creating a budget for the cost of materials. The Anvil Picnic Table was placed in Jamestown’s central park on April 22nd.
