About

All elements within a space have a narrative of its own, weaved together, it becomes a grander story. Everyone and everything has a story, and this, is my story:

I was born and raised in Hong Kong. In 2007, I gave up my place in Hong Kong Shue Yan University for BFA in Journalism and came to New York City to pursue my design dream. In 2012, I graduated from the New York School of Interior Design with a BFA in Interior Design. I strongly believe in the importance of curiosity for all designers; the exploration of all opportunities that widen our horizons and expand our knowledge in different and interconnected fields.

I am goal and detail-oriented, enjoy challenges and thrive in undertaking out-of-the-ordinary tasks. This is reflected in my design projects for both school and at work. I am extremely responsible, a quick learner and a good team player. Despite the intense school curriculum, I tutored, worked as an intern and undertook freelancing projects in computer modeling, rendering and branding, in order to hone my skills and prepare for future options. These experiences offered me some very
exciting opportunities, for example, prototyping furniture in a factory in China. It was fascinating to learn how furniture is fabricated and how a factory functions. I believe that all fields are interlaced; the more I understand all the parts and pieces, the more I understand the facets of my field. Alexander McQueen, the late fashion designer, expressed a similar idea -

"I spent a long time learning how to construct clothes, which is important to do before you can deconstruct them.”

This reinforces my belief that in order to keep improving, designers should not be limited to sources from their own specialties. Growing up and living in two of the world’s largest cultural hubs,
Hong Kong and New York, has contributed to my multi-cultural background and acceptance of all new and unknown things. Travelling is my biggest passion. I seek exposure to new ideas and have always been inspired and motivated by different cultures and traditions. I love literature and the arts, especially photography, music and film.

I look forward to all the incredible challenges awaiting me!
