Jose Jimenez joined BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group) in 2015 as a Senior Architect and is currently working on the East 126 project, a mixed-use building in Harlem, New York. He is a Licensed Architect in New York State and a LEED Accredited Professional with extensive experience in Interior Architecture.
His body of work includes high-end residential, hospitality, commercial and interior renovations. Prior to joining BIG, Jose was a Senior Project Director at Clodagh Design International, where he oversaw the design and construction of the East Hotel in Miami, the Miraval Spa in Arizona, and the Abington House in New York.
Before Clodagh Design, Jose worked at Rodriguez Studio, a boutique architecture firm specializing on high-end residential renovations and commercial interiors, such as the Jeremy Argyle store and Sam Brocato Salon, both in New York City.
In addition to his professional work, he is a returning guest critic at Pratt Institute, the New York School of Interior Design and at Parsons The New School. Jose is originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico and holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Cornell University.

During my studies at Cornell University, I got the opportunity to be part of the 'Architecture as an Ensemble' Summer Program, where we traveled all summer through Eastern Europe studying the modern architecture of the 1900s. I was also part of the Cornell in Rome abroad program, living in Rome for the Fall semester of 2005.
Additionally, I was part of the 2004 Cornell University Solar Decathlon Team, which won 2nd place in the competition.
For my thesis, I designed a mobile rock concert venue.

With Clodagh Design International, the Abington House won the Best of Year Award from Interior Design Magazine.
Gold Key Award for Excellence in Hospitality Design - Spa, 1st Place
With Clodagh Design International, our renovation of the Miraval Life and Balance Spa won the Gold Key Award for Excellence in Hospitality Design, in the Spa Category.
Who's Next - Green Home Design Contest, Honorable Mention
As part of Rodriguez Studio, we submitted the Reticulated House to this competition. We were awarded with an Honorable Mention, being in the Top 25 of the entries.
Solar Decathlon, 2nd Place
While at Cornell University, I was part of the team that designed the 2nd place winner of the 2004 Solar Decathlon competition.
