Senior year fall semester project. Designed a library that was to be located in the South End in Blackstone Square on Washington Street.
The design of the library is meant to keep the footprint of the building to a minimum while leaving the site open, and connecting the space next to the William Blackstone elementary school and Blackstone Square park. With the composition of the building, the space created leads people through the site and increases the traffic of the site. The space that the existing basketball court takes up is raised to both bridge between the building mass and to give back a place for kids to play in.
