About

As a seasoned, well-rounded Project Architect and Manager, I offer experienced leadership and expertise in putting together exceptionally designed and technically well-crafted buildings.  I have a passion for design, with the desire to continually learn, explore, innovate, and make architecture that is beautiful, enduring, sustainable, and impactful to individuals and communities.  Throughout my career as project lead, my passionate yet amicable approach to creating great buildings collaboratively, brings positive energy to a project and creates an enjoyable experience for the entire design-client-construction team.

With a strong work ethic, excellent critical thinking, organizational and communication skills, I ensure the design process and administration of every project runs smoothly for the entire team.  Under my guidance, projects have been well detailed and coordinated, have met deadlines, budget and schedule, and have far exceeded client expectations, for both new construction and renovation/reuse.  With my museum design experience, I bring expertise in highly complex, high-profile projects, with an extended and elaborate client constituency, often involving multiple municipal agencies and diverse review groups, as well as sustainability goals. Four of my projects are LEED certified.

As a creative and hands-on problem solver, I help forge a vision born from the unique opportunities presented by each project’s typology, mission, client, user, site, budget and schedule; a vision that guides siting, plan, form, materials, structure, MEP, and detailing.  I strive to develop concepts that speak to the mind, heart and imagination of clients, building users and communities; concepts that challenge a person’s thought process and physical senses in an uplifting and enriching way, but that are balanced with high functionality and economic reality.

Architecture has the power to heal, to calm our agitated minds, and lighten our heavy bodies.  It can bring positive energy to our everyday lives, much like meditation, yoga or music, by embracing us in a place where we feel at ease and inspired. Architecture can help people better understand, navigate, and appreciate the urban and social aspects of our lives, bringing us together spiritually by sharing exciting and engaging experiences.  In approaching design, I like to challenge the status quo, rethink norms, grow perspectives, and re-imagine the role of buildings today, how they function and what they stand for.  There is no better time than today, in a world challenged to rethink how we socialize and interact with our environment, that fresh and innovative perspectives are needed.

I enthusiastically offer my extensive project success and expertise. I hope my excellent interpersonal skills, my leadership strengths garnering trust from clients, project teams and staff, and my history of inventive design solutions will be of significant value and a great match for your firm's philosophy, approach and culture.
