The new 22,500 SF facility houses science labs and classrooms for the center's allied health programs. It consists of a two-story building linked to the existing main building with a quadrangle, community meeting room, and shaded outdoor 2nd floor terrace. The project includes 13,000 SF of renovations within the existing main building for new offices and a new career development center, and in the new building, a community serving clinic, faculty and administration offices. Instructional labs in the sciences included in the new building are chemistry, biology, anthropology, physiology and nursing skills. The community room at the ground floor between the new building and existing building is entirely transparent, accommodating views from the street into the new quadrangle at the heart of the site. The project sits on a prominent corner in the heart of downtown National City. The building is faced in marble print porcelain tile.
