THIS HOUSE IS COMPOSED OF A SERIES OF VOLUMES OF ADDITION AND SUBTRACTION. THE CLIENT REQUESTED A CONTEMPORARY, CLEAN AND PURE SPACE. THE CHALLENGES FOR THIS EXERCISE WERE LOW MAINTAINANCE AND CLIMATE COMFORT IN A REDUCED AREA.
MY MAIN FOCUS ON THE DESIGN PROCESS WAS TO TREAT THE SPACES AS A SERIES OF CONTAINERS AND TO MAXIMIZE THE FUNCTIONAL AREA. MATERIAL SELECTION WAS A BIG PART OF THIS PROJECT: IN GENERAL, MASONRY WITH STUCCO WAS IMPLEMENTED ON 80% OF THE HOUSE FOR FRESHNESS. OXIDE CONCRETE WAS USED FOR MINIMUM MAINTAINANCE ON EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR WALLS, AND STEEL LOUVERS WERE USED FOR PRIVACY AND VENTILATION.
