We are looking for a full-time Senior Project Architect to join our growing and fast-paced team in an architectural role focused on projects of varying scales and technical complexities. Project Architects are the leaders of developing architectural plans and will work hand-in-hand with Project Managers and the design team to create exceptional projects. A Project Architect should have extensive knowledge of the building process, from conceptual design through construction, and be able to apply architectural principles, practices and techniques consistently and with exploratory drive. The right person for this role will be an excellent communicator, strategic thinker and collaborative problem solver, as well as have significant experience in code analysis and detailing/documentation. A candidate needs to be able to work independently and collaboratively, with a passion for craft and an eye for detail. The right person will also have substantial QA/QC experience and has been responsible for the architectural and consultant development of multiple commercial, multi-family, mixed-use and/or hospitality projects from design to close-out.

We are looking for someone that thrives in the multi-dimensional, problem-solving environment of our industry. The Senior Project Architect will also be part of the studio leadership and is expected to engage in the activities and advancement of the studio, as well as providing positive support, mentorship and training to junior staff.

This position is available at either our Los Angeles or Colorado Springs location.

Responsibilities

o Responsible for the production of Architectural Drawing Sets

o Responsible for Consultant drawing and design coordination 

o Building and Interiors Design 

o Architectural Team Coordination

o Documentation Production & Management

o Construction Administration

o Development of architectural solutions 

o Coordination of project efforts, including drawing sets, consultants, design team, clients, etc.

o QAQC & Standards Compliance 

o Internal and external meetings and presentation leadership

o Studio engagement and leadership


Knowledge, Skills and Experience

o    Bachelor or Master’s degree in Architecture

o    License required

o    12-15+ years of experience

o    Software experience required to include BIM, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite

o    ArchiCAD and AutoCAD experience is preferred

o    Ability to work both independently and in teams

o    Excellent organizational skills

o    Detailed and technical drafting skills

o    A strong, creative eye for design sensibilities

o    Strong redlining and sketching skills to provide clear direction to teams

o    Knowledge of agency processing and code compliance

o    Attention to both detail and big-picture concepts

o    Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects independently

o    Solid knowledge of codes, specs, engineering systems and construction methods

o    Resourceful, adaptive and efficient

o    Varied experience with a desire to learn

o    Ability to resolve complex issues and develop solutions

o    Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, ability to mentor and guide individuals and teams
