We are seeking a full-time architectural designer with exceptional graphic and illustration skills as well as drafting abilities. The roles and responsibilities of the Architectural Designer position include broad exposure to many aspects of project design and delivery, including participation in developing design concepts, creating presentation materials, working on construction documents, and assisting in construction administration.   The candidate must be adaptable and able to work to prioritizing tasks with Project Architect supervision; demonstrate an imaginative, creative and innovative design solutions to technical problems; be flexible, a motivated multi-tasker, detail-oriented, and a hard-working team player.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Generate and explore creative design solutions to challenging architectural problems;
  • Participate in the architectural design process and develop alternative solutions and presentation graphics used to communicate concepts to the client or for agency approval.
  • Create and develop Building Information Modeling and technical drawings using a range of software applications. 
  • Assist in the streamlining of the architectural design process from conceptual design through overall completion of projects through researching colors/finishes/materials; perform site surveys and maintains resource materials. 
  • Assist Project Architects in construction drawings of projects including organize and maintain project files; perform redline changes and revisions.
  • Assist with contract administration responsibilities and participate in the review of product or shop drawing submittals during the construction phase.

Qualifications

  • 0 to 3 years’ experience working architecturally in a fast-paced working environment; prior experience at an architectural or engineering firm preferred.
  • Degree from a NAAB-accredited Architecture program on a path to licensure with enrollment in NCARB Designer Development Program
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino, Enscape, Lumion, AutoCAD and Revit
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Acrobat, and PowerPoint;
  • Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills, with the ability to complete projects on time, with precision and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of an effective team, assisting and supporting team members.
  • Desire to learn, accept direction, and be mentored
  • Ability to build good relationships, both internally and externally, with integrity, respect, humor, and a sense of responsibility.
