DAVID RUBIN Land Collective is seeking a full-time, in-studio Marketing Manager with a minimum of 2-years A/E experience to support the studio in day-to-day marketing efforts. Land Collective is a landscape architecture, urban design, and planning studio entering its 12th year of practice with offices in Philadelphia and Indianapolis. Our studio is driven by design empathy and emphasizes holistically-sustainable principles, with social sustainability leading the design effort.

This position is full-time and will be based in Philadelphia, PA. The Marketing Manager position will work closely with the Founding Principal and the Business Development Director, will manage and be supported by our Marketing Assistant, and will collaborate with all members of the studio. The Marketing Manager will be responsible for coordinating the execution of all marketing efforts, including driving firm awareness, building brand identity, informing business development, understanding client needs and goals, and producing marketing content and deliverables to support these efforts.

Our new Marketing Manager should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be well organized and detail oriented, and bring knowledge of A/E marketing strategy, campaigns, and project pursuits. Clear, cohesive, and compelling writing skills are required, along with the ability to produce consistent messaging. Marketing content will reflect the mission and visual language of the studio, but be tailored to every prospective client and audience. The position requires organization and management of multiple projects with differing timelines and firm deadlines. This team member must exhibit maturity, flexibility, enthusiasm, a positive attitude, and grace under pressure. An appreciation for art and landscape is valued, as is an understanding of the design fields (landscape, architecture, planning). This role reports directly to the Business Development Director and Founding Principal of Land Collective, David Rubin.

Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Business Development and Understanding Clients (75%)

  • Work with the Principals and Business Development Director, Marketing Assistant, and studio members to develop, support and execute business development activities that support business goals.
  • Coordinate with Founding Principal on weekly calendar of marketing activities, submissions, and deadlines.
  • Support Principals and studio members in thought leadership activities (meet and greets, presentations, lectures, publications, award nominations, etc.)
  • Undertake research on target markets to understand client needs and goals.
  • Support and nurture long-term relationships with clients.
  • Track long term leads and potential projects posted on procurement sites.
  • Provide project summaries of potential efforts to the Principals for evaluation.
  • Maintain active list of current long-term leads, RFQ/RFPs, proposal deadlines, and fee efforts, and track key metrics for success.
  • Create and produce submissions from outlines through full content using InDesign, or standard Word templates, as required. Marketing Manager will be responsible for coordinating the production of quality proposals in a timely manner to meet all deadlines.
  • Work with Principals and staff to develop project interviews and collateral.
  • Interface with potential clients and collaborators to coordinate proposal information.

Firm Awareness and Brand Identity (25%)

  • Work with the Principals, Marketing Assistant, and members of the studio to establish and lead marketing campaigns to build firm awareness and strengthen brand identity.
  • Establish and coordinate execution of coordinated marketing campaigns across digital platforms (website, social media, marketing materials).
  • Maintain open lines of communication with all studio members to understand timelines, major submissions, and challenges with current project work.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • Minimum of 2-years of experience in similar setting or roles within an A/E firm required
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, including but not limited to art history, English, sociology, communications, landscape architecture, or anthropology.
  • Knowledge of business development and proposal processes (RFQ/RFP’s)
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • A joyful and proactive approach to problem-solving
  • An appreciation for landscape, art, and culture is valued
  • A strong connection to the firm mission
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, a must
  • Proficiency with Adobe Suites, at a minimum InDesign required
  • Occasional travel will be required

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Hours: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 9am – 6pm, with occasional need for extended focus as appropriate for a professional position
