An Interior Designer at MA works under the direction of mid-to senior level interior designers, assisting with the development of design solutions for review, researches and selects colors/finishes/materials/FF&E performs site surveys and documentation, and maintains resource materials. The Interior Designer applies established interior design standards to assist in The production of construction drawings, performs routine checking and/or verification tasks, and develops finish boards and presentations.

Core Responsibilities

Project Design & Planning

  • Understand the MA “Project Road Map” as well as project schedule and pertinent deadlines
  • Participate in project design and development from concept through documentation
  • Assist team in the preparation of client design presentations (selecting conceptual images, generating 3D views, rendered elevations, material, and FF&E selections)
  • Develop an understanding of what should be included in a client presentation based on the meeting agenda
  • Develop FF&E package and selections
  • Implement design direction based on leadership feedback

Project Administration

  • Maintain Project Directory
  • Ensure adherence to project file structure

Project Documentation

  • Support the production of Design Development and Construction Document sets
  • Consistently review work for accuracy; update documentation from redlines
  • Assist with schedules for interior finishes, appliances, plumbing fixtures, and door hardware
  • Correspond with required vendors regarding specifications and pricing

Quality Control

  • Comply with MA Presentation Standards and complete required Checklists
  • Self-check own work
  • Archive project emails and maintains standard server file organization

Construction Administration

  • Assist project team as directed

Qualifications

Education:

Professional degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, or Interior Design
Other accreditations encouraged (NCIDQ, AIA, LEED)

Experience:

0+ years of experience

Skills:

Knowledge of 3D modeling using software such as Revit, Rhino, AutoCAD, and SketchUp; Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign); Enscape.
