ADAMWHEELERDESIGN (AWD) is a boutique Architectural Design studio located in the exciting neighborhood known as the Arts District in DTLA. Throughout our 17 years in business, we have dedicated ourselves to creating spaces that are both organic and industrial, and our projects vary in location, scale and use. 

The belief that architecture is an art form meant to enhance the lives and environment of its users drives our design process. Our goal is to deliver a space that solves problems and meets the needs of its users while being innovative through our use of materials and techniques.

The right candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter who will excel as a Part-Time or Full-Time Entry Level Draftsperson and Project Assistant and can make independent headway on multiple projects at a time. 0-2 years professional work experience

Degree in Architecture

Proficiency in AutoCAD

Experience with a glue gun and model making

An exceptional eye for design and skills that support our firm’s aesthetic

Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines

U.S. work authorization and 1+ year resident of the Greater Los Angeles Area. (Unfortunately we cannot sponsor work visas and this is an in-person position.)

Excellent communication and organizational skills as our projects vary in size and location. 

Fluency In: Adobe Suite, Microsoft Suite, Rhino or similar 3D modeling program, AutoCAD.


Support AWD in designing, producing and coordinating projects

Draft major portions of design development and construction document sets and details

Research and apply residential, commercial, ADA and FHA codes

Work with City entities to make Plan Sets permit-ready

Develop and build physical site models

Develop client presentation packages

Assist in building administration

Take thorough meeting minutes, keep meticulous records and retain information

Research products and materials
