SCAPE is a dynamic landscape architecture and urban design studio based in New York City with an office in New Orleans. Our work integrates natural cycles and systems into environments across all scales, with the goal of connecting people to their immediate environment and creating dynamic and climate-adaptive landscapes of the future. 

Our studio is looking for a reliable and organized Office Coordinator. This individual will undertake a variety of high-level administrative tasks and help our growing office operations team and systems run smoothly. The ideal candidate has 1-3 years of experience working in a design office or related field and has a strong interest in design management. They will be a self-starter and will be able to prioritize and work with weekly supervision. Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, along with mastery of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) and Adobe InDesign and basic office management procedures are required. Applicants who are Public Notaries or who are willing to become a Notary are highly desirable. Successful candidates will have a flexible mindset and be positive, self-motivated, trustworthy, and dedicated to the mission of SCAPE.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate job postings, applicant portfolio and resumes, hiring, and onboarding processes.
• Manage and maintain SCAPE business, M/WBE, and professional licenses.
• Assist the SCAPE Managing Principal and Operations Manager with special projects, events,
• technology, and office/technology infrastructure projects as needed across our multiple office
• spaces.
• Provide high-level administrative support to our team of Principals and Staff of 70+ designers as
• needed.
• Assist with resource and reference material management for the office.
• Work with the Operations Manager and Managing Principal on workflow, prioritization,
• administration, and advancement of the operations and administration systems in place.

Experience, Qualifications and Skills: 

• Bachelor’s degree or higher
• 1-3 years of experience as an office administrator, preferably in an architecture or design office or related field.
• Well-organized and strategic thinker
• Strong attention to detail and ability to track and follow through on tasks to completion
• A flexible and team-oriented approach to work
• Excellent communications skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Software (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)
• Ability to work in the U.S.A. and begin work on or before October 1st in our New York office
