Lizette Marie Interior Design (lizettemarie.com) is currently seeking a full-time Interior Architect reporting to the Principal and Owner Lizette Marie. Our main mission at LMID is to convert our clients’ luxury lifestyle vision into reality. We do this by listening to our clients, interpreting their voices, enhancing their vision, and delivering results.

Interior Architect Responsibilities:

Architect/Designer

  • Work directly with the principal to develop high-quality design, drawings, and documents during all phases of projects from creating conceptual design ideas through construction administration

  • Generate and interpret construction documents for complex high-end residential projects. Review CDs to ensure accuracy

  • Prepare design illustrations or rough sketches and presentation graphics, and create digital models

  • Oversee and execute all design,  both soft goods, and construction,  and ensure it fits within the client’s expectations (budget and timeline) and aesthetic as also outlined by the principal  

  • Articulate design concepts through pin-ups, slide decks, and sketch sessions 

  • Evaluate and make recommendations regarding floor, space, furniture and elevations that communicate the design intent  

  • Select all furnishings for approval by the principal in charge including custom product design

Project Leader

  • Develop, oversee & manage the project scope, cost, and timeline through installation in conjunction with the principal and studio director

  • Oversee the creation of the project timeline with the studio director 

  • Manage project timelines with studio director  by leading the team with clear direction of deliverables 

  • Liaise and develop long-term relationships alongside the principal with clients, contractors, consultants, vendors, and design showrooms through frequent communication and status updates

  • Actively participate in weekly construction site meetings, liaise with architects, owner’s reps, and other external team members as needed. 

  • Delegate construction tasks to internal team to maintain critical path

  • Prepare and deliver design presentations for clients, principal, and design team

  • Manage the quality control of the project / Oversee and manage issues with design team, contractors, vendors and clients / Work with design team to help them identify and document problems or conflicts then determine solutions

  • Maintain all project-related information in Dropbox and Asana and G-sheets

  • Problem solve any issues that may arise with product or installations to ensure client satisfaction at all times 

  • Overseeing of installation and job sites, as well as quality control of all finished products

Managing team

  • Effectively communicate Principal’s design vision and aesthetic to design team

  • Breakdown and delegate tasks; oversee design team progress to meet all timelines 

  • Manage and mentor the design team; oversee the team’s creation of all phases from initial design concept to installation, maintenance of proposals for each project, and design plan documents are properly created and maintained by team

  • Mentor and coach design team prior to internal presentations to Principal to ensure team is ready and meet all expectations of design aspects

  • Lead internal design meetings with team and/or principal

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience in high-end residential interior design or architecture firm with construction experience

  • Knowledge of custom fabrication

  • Comprehensive understanding of construction and permit set development and execution 

  • Extensive knowledge of design principles and standards 

  • Strong field observational skills 

  • Ability to convey design options via sketch, 3D model, or other visual mediums

  • High proficiency in Adobe Suite 

  • Strong proficiency with Mac; G-suites, Quickbooks, Vectorworks, and Asana are a plus

  • Strong understanding of interior/residential materials, vendors, and terminology

  • Mastery of communication; Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of audience when articulating information clearly, ie. clients, builders, architects, vendors, design team

  • Strong space planning and understanding of feasibility 

  • Both detailed oriented and big picture thinker  

  • Comfortable making decisions and maintain the high level of confidentiality

  • Agile to switch from Project to Project and assimilate to new information

  • Access to car with a valid driver’s license
