Daroff Design Inc + DDI Architects, PC (DDI), is an award-winning, internationally recognized interior design and architecture firm. We specialize in the facility programming, master planning, and design of innovative, efficient, and environmentally sustainable facilities for our workplace, hospitality, multi-family, and public sector clients.


Candidates shall have a minimum of a Bachelor of Interior Design degree with at least 10 years’ job experience in transportation, workplace, hospitality and/or entertainment markets. Considerable experience in hospitality is a plus.

The candidate shall further demonstrate his or her success collaborating with consulting team members including architects, furniture dealers, lighting designers, manufacturers, and product representatives and efficiently maintaining clear and open communication. The successful candidate should also take a leadership role within the project team to direct and oversee junior designers when needed.

Project Management Responsibilities

  • Assume a leadership role in the programming, conceptual design, schematic deign, design development, space planning and construction documentation.
  • Day to day point of contact with specialty consultants.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager and Project Architect to establish and maintain project goals and quality.
  • Participate in the selection and presentation of furniture, material finishes, FF&E, and lighting.
  • Oversee compliance with project documentation standards, protocols and guidelines.
  • Management of the development of interior design drawings and renderings.
  • Continuously provide design support to and maintain open communication with clients, consultants, manufacturers, and team members during all phases of the project
  • Assist in preparing client presentations and finish boards in a timely manner.
  • Draft floor plans, elevations, and Revit models.
  • Mentor less experienced staff.

Required Skills

  • Proven commitment to design excellence.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to clearly communicate with our in-house team members including managing expectations, goals and responsibilities.
  • Proficient knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles needed to produce well-coordinated technical documents.
  • Proven ability to prioritize in order to meet deadlines and provide high quality service to clients.
  • Ability to lead diverse teams in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency in Revit is required, having used the tool in all project phases including construction documents.
  • Thorough understanding of the development and production of architectural specifications and proficiency in the use of MasterSpec.
  • Proficiency in the use of project management and production software and tools including Microsoft Project, Excel, MSWord, Bluebeam, as well as AutoCAD/Architectural Desktop.
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup, and InDesign graphic software is a plus.
