An Interior Designer at TCA is passionate about design. The designer will work directly with the project team leaders and will focus on assuming responsibility of the design and documentation of interior design projects. The designer will begin to take responsibility for designing, and coordinating high-density, multifamily projects with direction and oversight. The Intermediate Interior Designer's role will vary depending on the specific nature and size of the projects.

The successful candidate must have the ability to express oneself clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, and communicate ideas in presentations to firm leaders, team members and clients. An exceptional portfolio representing recent work is required to be presented during the interview.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate, assist and initiate ideas and design concepts with the project team.
  • Generate design sketches, space planning, floor plans and elevations to facilitate design concepts.
  • Prepare presentation materials and sample boards.
  • Present designs to clients and consultants as needed.
  • Produce hardline set in Design Development and Construction Documentation phases.
  • Collaborate during Construction Administration Phase.
  • Develop detail library for the Interior Design Department.
  • Coordinate and interact with architects, various consultants and vendors throughout the projects.
  • Source items, price and research materials.
  • FF&E documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Interior Architecture / Interior Design Degree
  • Minimum of 6 years' experience in large scale projects.
  • Multifamily, high-rise, mid-rise, affordable housing, student housing and mixed-use project experience are preferred.
  • Skilled at programming, space planning, furniture layout, reflected ceiling plans and elevation development.
  • Be knowledgeable in sourcing materials, finishes and furnishing.
  • Experience and familiarity with custom fabrication.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Suite, Adobe Suite, SketchUp, Enscape, AutoCAD and Revit.
  • High-level of attention to detail and follow up.

Education:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree required.

Position Location:

  • The Interior Designer will be located in our downtown Los Angeles office, however currently our Team is working from home due to COVID-19.
