Technical Project Architect

Selldorf Architects is an award-winning international architecture and interior design firm based in Manhattan.  The firm’s portfolio encompasses a wide range of projects, including cultural, institutional and commercial as well as residential. The firm is currently seeking a Technical Project Architect with excellent BIM skills for full time employment. The successful candidate will have the following experience and qualifications: 

  • This person will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of BIM models and maintains technical quality control over DD and CD documentation. Collaborates with Project Managers in developing a BIM Management Plan for each project while ensuring models are constructed to the correct Level of Design (LOD).
  • This person will have advanced knowledge in using Autodesk Revit to produce design development, and construction documentation, while detailing a wide variety of project types
  • This person will manage and facilitate BIM/Revit workflow and design coordination while advancing the firm’s BIM proficiency and leading strategies to advance the firm’s capabilities to ensure project teams meet clients’ BIM requirements and delivery standards
  • This person will train and teach junior staff members Revit and BIM related software and track their experience levels.
  • Acts as leader and mentor by coaching and motivating project team members in the use of advanced Revit technologies.
  • Assisting in development a firmwide BIM Execution Plan, refining the firm template while continually documenting and communicating best practices and workflows. Actively contributes to firm wide efforts to increase technical consistency and design efficiencies
  • Developing, and formulating BIM related assets, such as Revit family development and graphic standard processes.  Work closely with project teams to model complex BIM elements. Perform audits of project models to ensure health of the BIM model throughout the project cycle
  • Chair the Selldorf Revit committee. Coordinate firm-wide BIM processes, policies, protocols and workflows including technologies, standards and guidelines with junior BIM Specialists to keep consistent with industry trends and development.
  • Develop a leadership presence office wide as a resource for technical and BIM related issues.

Requirements Include:

  • 5-year professional architectural degree or architectural master’s degree preferred
  • 5-7 years of professional industry experience using Autodesk Revit while producing design development, construction documentation, and detailing on a wide variety of project types
  • Shows excellent proficiency in Revit/Autodesk and BIM related products.
  • Ability to balance various tasks, responsibilities, and commitments efficiently on multiple projects concurrently.  
  • Shows knowledge of integrated architectural and engineering practice
  • Experience producing sophisticated document sets from Schematic Design through Construction Documentation for highly technical and detail oriented projects.
  • Experience working with and coordinating workflow for internal and external team members
  • Passion to teach and mentor others
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proactive self-starter with the ability to work with minimal oversight
  • Experience managing staff
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to complete tasks with accuracy and precision and with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines, completing tasks as previously defined.
