Perkins Eastman is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader for the Charlotte office. The marketing manager is responsible for leading the marketing and business development efforts, including setting priorities, strategizing pursuits, preparing business development reports, and providing quality control for all marketing deliverables.

We are an integrated firm which our professional roster consist of architects, interior designers, planners, urban designers, landscape architects, graphic designers, construction specification writers, construction economists, environmental analysts, resiliency experts, traffic and transportation engineers, and several other professional disciplines.

We are seeking an outstanding marketing manager, with a minimum of 10 years of full-time experience. The Marketing Manager reports to the Firmwide Director of Marketing for overall direction and resource allocation. Marketing staff are integral and respected members of our team. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for providing support to Principals, Studio Directors and local Practice Area Leaders for their business development efforts.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with principals and practice area leaders to identify and track targets and leads and to prepare weekly business development reports

  • Collaborate with team members on pre-positioning and pursuit strategy, proposal composition and content, writing, design, and production of compelling and engaging marketing materials

  • Participate in overall marketing and client engagement strategy development

  • Facilitate a proactive business development effort in collaboration with the principals in the office; runs the weekly office business development meeting

  • Set proposal strategy with the principals

  • Work with presentation teams to strategize and rehearse for presentations

  • Create content as required for specific proposals, qualifications, brochures, presentations, etc.

  • Provide review and quality control of proposals, presentations, award submissions, etc.

  • Promote the visibility of Perkins Eastman in the Region through local public relations (with firmwide communications staff) and leading our participation in local events

  • Coordinate the local photography and awards

  • Assist with drafting and implementing the strategic plan for the office, and with the office’s participation in specific firmwide practice area plans (Healthcare, Senior Living, Workplace, Commercial Mixed-Use, Multifamily Residential, Large Scale, Higher Ed, K-12, Hospitality, Sports-Entertainment)

  • Provides coaching in marketing and business development skills for office staff members

  • Responsible for the organization of marketing resources, including the proposal files, marketing databases, and other electronic and physical resources that may be available

  • Leads data gathering initiative to update resumes, reference information, project information, and consultant/vendor information

  • Attend local industry events and build relationships with consultants

Additional Marketing Manager Duties:

  • Participate in developing and nourishing client relations by knowing and promoting the firm's portfolio and services

  • Conduct market and client research and develop custom reports

  • Contribute to the communications team supporting PR and photography efforts

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Arts in Architecture, Interior Design, Marketing, Communications or related field.

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience working in the AEC Industry

  • Leadership: ability to be the local leader of the marketing and business development process, to set a vision and motivate

  • Strategic: ability to position the firm for a specific project or target market

  • Industry: understanding of the business of architecture and design

  • Client/customer service: understanding of marketing as a service to the office

  • Communications: ability to speak and write clearly

  • Organizational: ability to organize a document, a production process, a department

  • Teamwork: works as a member of a team, pitches in to help out others

  • Software: Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Deltek Vision
