Huitt-Zollars, Inc. has a dynamic Healthcare Architect opportunity at our Healthcare Studio in Los Angeles, CA. This full-time role prepares and reviews design and construction documents and specifications in support of project managers. The successful candidate will have OSHPD experience and knowledge of design, construction procedures, zoning, building codes and building materials for healthcare projects.   • Simultaneous work on a minimum of 2-3 projects all phases from programming through project closeout on schedule.
  • Coordinate development of project design with project managers and consultants.
  • Monitor construction progress through on-site inspection and review.
  • Supervise and guide the work of architectural designers ensuring adherence to HZ policies and procedures.
  • Interface with clients, contractors and consultants.
  • Select and recommend project materials.
  • Manage design and/or detail of building assemblies and components.
  • Travel to construction job sites and client meetings as necessary.


  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Construction Science/Management
  • Minimum 5 year's architectural design experience in Healthcare projects, OSHPD experience preferred.
  • Professional architectural license in the state of California (Other jurisdictions will be considered and 3 additional years of comparable experience may be considered in lieu of licensures.)
  • Proficient in Revit 2015-1018 with minimum 5 yrs. project experience
  • Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to read redlines and modify BIM models or drawings
  • Ability to prepare architectural documents and specifications for projects
  • Ability to work in an open office environment
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills clearly conveying technical issues and design ideas
  • Technical capacity to research and apply building codes
  • Knowledge of building design and construction means, methods, and techniques
  • Awareness of sustainable design approaches
