Basic Purpose of the Job:
Project Lead/Project Manager for directing system design and project success for lighting designers and engineers and other team members.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The following job description is a general summary of duties typically performed in this position.  It is not all-inclusive and is not an employment contract. PAE and Luma employees are expected to perform duties as assigned by management.

  • Lead project teams, effectively collaborate with team members of the company by fostering growth and team development at all geographic locations of the company
  • Manage lighting only and interdisciplinary project financials, schedules, deliverables, resources, and quality control
  • Able to effectively communicate design options to a diverse stakeholder group
  • Complete the project within the budget and schedule
  • Have and maintain knowledge of other disciplines and direct interdisciplinary coordination internally with team members and externally with clients and external team members
  • Detailed knowledge of multi-regional building codes and industry standards
  • Perform calculations and equipment selection relevant to discipline
  • Provide training, inspiration, communication and design direction for the project team
  • Estimate probable construction costs
  • Perform site visits and issue reports
  • Edit/write specifications; provide input into standards
  • Oversee building performance simulation as it relates to the discipline
  • Implement the project quality management plan (QMP)
  • Maintain and grow client relationships to develop new opportunities

Key Competencies & Skills:

  • Independently evaluate and apply judgement, techniques, and procedures to complete a project from design through construction
  • Lead projects successfully and profitably
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • AutoCAD/Revit
  • Photoshop, AGI, Sketch up, 3D Studio Max, Rhino/Diva
  • Lead design of lighting systems and perform as Lighting Designer of record


  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, or associated field for discipline work or relevant equivalent experience
  • Technical institute training preferred
  • Requires a minimum of 5-7 years relevant experience with minimum 3 years of Lighting Designer 4 or equivalent experience

Working Conditions:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers.
