Sutro Architects is an award-winning San Francisco firm specializing in high-end residential architecture and design. We are looking for professional, talented, and motivated individuals to join our thriving office of just over 20 people. Successful candidates will be strong team players with ability to work independently on all project phases, from schematic design to construction administration. Excellent knowledge of Revit / AutoCAD / SketchUp / Adobe CS is a must.         

In addition to working on a team for larger projects, we believe in sharing early responsibility for those architects willing to take on a challenge and run their own projects. We work on beautiful projects across a spectrum of styles, and our team members are entrusted with design input, project management, and client interaction at every level. - Collaborating with colleagues, clients, and consultants to create elegant and sustainable solutions

- Creating and developing overall design concepts based on client requirements and collaboration with senior staff and the Principal-in-Charge

- Preparing 3D and physical models and renderings, and formulating design presentation strategies

- Engaging in all aspects of projects, from schematic design through construction documents and construction administration 


- Bachelor or Master of Architecture degree

- 2-5 years of architectural experience (minimum 2 years residential design)

- Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp proficiency required

- Exceptional verbal, graphic, and written communication skills

- Knowledge of construction documentation methods and codes

- Familiarity with residential construction, including appropriate products, specifications, and detailing

- Experience working on LEED projects and advancing towards LEED AP designation

- Highly motivated, personable, team-oriented individual with the ability to work both independently and within a team environment
