Our design studio is seeking an Interior Designer with 5+ years of professional experience to join our highly motivated team of designers who are creating thoughtful destination experiences. This is not a traditional design firm. We may be formal in presentations, documentation and detailing, but this is an extremely casual work environment. The ideal candidate is extremely creative, communicative and collaborative; willing to roll up their sleeves and do what it takes to get the job done.

Here at R O H E, we typically produce 100% design development drawing sets in house. As required, we partner with architects and other consultants local to the project to produce construction documents. We also provide and  customize highly detailed millwork, furniture and lighting drawings and FF&E specifications. The Interior Designer is integral to this process and we are looking for you to contribute in the following ways;

JOB DESCRIPTION + REQUIREMENTS   

  • Masters/ Bachelors of Interior Design
  • 5 to 8 years of professional design experience. (Hospitality Design experence is preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Photoshop and InDesign. Sketch-UpSpexx, Exxpedite and Asana Task Management a bonus!!
  • Highly Proficient in AutoCAD. 
  • Extensive knowledge in FF&E Sourcing; Both new and vintage.
  • Fluent in Specification Writing: Finishes and FF&E
  • Fluent in Space Planning and developing drawings through Concept Design, Schematic Design and Design Development
  • Strong Design Presentation + Representation skills; Mood Boards, FF&E Boards, Concept Planning + Sketching. Must be highly effective at communicating design concepts and narratives.
  • Work closely with Owner/Creative Director to establish design visions, concepts and narratives.
  • Work closely with in-house Interior Architect to establish proper documentation and detailing of designs.
  • Must be comfortable communicating and coordinating directly with our clients such as; Chefs, Restaurateurs, Retailers, Owners + Operation Teams
  • Must be comfortable working with budgets, purchasing agents, custom fabricators and hospitality vendors. 
  • Manage all (FF&E)Furniture, Finish and Lighting  documentation and specification writing for your specific projects. 
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects in different design phases.
  • Experience with purchasing and procurement, a plus! 
  • Experience with styling, a plus!
