  • Responsible for performing a variety of business development functions including market research, client targeting, and representing Flad at events. Routinely consult with Marketing Director and Regional Market Leaders on plans and strategy for prospective client development.
  • Within the strategic markets, identify potential client and project targets, and conduct research to determine their viability for Flad.
  • Explore and develop a variety of lead sources for potential targets. Monitor trends and clients.
  • Identify the key decision makers in the client's organization, potential competitors, and key issues. Engage other Flad staff to assist in cultivating the client.
  • Investigate and establish partnering opportunities with other professional organizations to develop and maintain appropriate contacts. Support Flad's participation in trade shows, events, seminars, and the local community, representing the firm as appropriate.
  • Support the Office Leader and Marketing Director in developing a regional business development plan. Communicate to local staff, allowing engagement in the marketing process.


  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, communications, or related field required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Three years relevant business development experience required. Five years preferred.
  • Knowledge of architecture, engineering, and/or construction field preferred.
  • Proficiency in Cosential or other CRM (contact relationship management) software and Microsoft Office required.
