Lang Architecture seeks a motivated self-starter to join its design and development team to continue and expand its mission to design, develop and build uniquely crafted buildings that make a significant contribution to the built environment.


Specific responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the following:

  • Manage all aspects of design and development, including: pre-development, entitlements, consultant coordination, design and construction team oversight, marketing, and sales;
  • Develop, update and manage project schedules and budgets;
  • Manage project pro formas;
  • Assist in reviewing legal documentation and contracts for all aspects of development;
  • Prepare project updates to Investors;
  • Work collaboratively with project team members to set, enforce and accomplish project goals;
  • Communicate project challenges to team members; research and present solutions;
  • Review and negotiate contracts with consultants and contractors;
  • Assist in reviewing construction plans, RFIs and submittals;
  • Manage agency approval and permitting process;
  • Convene regular and ad-hoc meetings as required to meet project goals and solve challenges;
  • Daily management, coordination and completion of ground-up construction projects to meet design, cost and schedule;
  • Establish and monitor administrative procedures for the project;
  • Manage trade buy-out procedures including bid list creation, scope leveling and contract negotiation. Strong scope writing and bid leveling skills required;
  • Review and approve payment applications and miscellaneous invoices;
  • Manage closeout process; and
  • Actively participate on internal tasks that focus on continuous business improvement.


  • Degree in architecture, real estate development or related field;
  • Architectural design and detailing experience desired but not required;
  • At least three years of project management and construction experience, with ground-up development experience;
  • Ability to manage a variety of tasks within a tight time schedule;
  • Excellent quantitative, analytical, written and oral communication skills;
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and financial modeling;
  • AutoCad skills desired but not required;
  • Strong work ethic and highly developed problem solving skills;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Ability to think creatively and contribute to meeting project goals; and
  • Enjoy working under time constraints and ability to excel under pressure.


  • Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
