The Center for Active Design (CfAD) is currently seeking a personable, detail-oriented and highly organized professional to provide efficient and comprehensive support to the certification team at Fitwel. The certification team is responsible for Fitwel certification and the advancement of the Fitwel Certification System. The Associate will be tasked with assisting in completing certification reviews, managing the certification process, responding to client inquiries, managing vendors, training certifiers, and administering the technology resources of Fitwel. The Associate will work closely with Fitwel reviewers to facilitate a smooth certification process and a high level of customer service for Fitwel project teams.


  • Serve as the primary point-of-contact for each of the Fitwel review teams, responding to inquiries related to certification reviews and policies
  • Manage and track the weekly status of project certifications with the Fitwel review teams
  • Review project documentation and perform secondary reviews to determine compliance with Fitwel requirements
  • Monitor and collect certification metrics related to quality control, use, and impact and prepare associated reports
  • Coordinate content updates and certification status with the Fitwel Account Management team
  • Prepare, coordinate, and manage training for new and existing certifiers and keep them abreast of all Fitwel updates
  • Support the Fitwel team, managing and leading tasks as assigned
  • Perform administrative duties for Fitwel as necessary
  • Other duties as necessary


  • Passion and dedication to CfAD’s mission
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher required, preferably in architecture, planning, engineering, building operations, or environmental science
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience required
  • Ability to read and analyze building plans and operations documents
  • Strong interpersonal and client management skills
  • Self-starter with demonstrated good judgment, critical thinking, flexibility, resourcefulness, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • Ability to work well both independently and in a collaborative environment
