Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Senior Project Architect:

Duties will include providing conceptual and detailed design schemes and aesthetic solutions for both small and large complex academic and institutional projects. This person will meet directly with clients, analyze client goals, and in conjunction with a Project Manager and other disciplines, will develop architectural solutions in support of those goals. Will create schematic designs and prepare presentation drawings, models, and narratives. Will coordinate all disciplines (architectural engineering interiors etc.) related to the building design and work with the various engineering disciplines to ensure that the solution accommodates the engineering needs and the owners program. He/she will develop staff work plans and conduct design development and contract document work sessions to complete documents on schedule and within budget and provide on an as-needed basis construction contract administration services.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors or Masters Degree in Architecture. Registered Architect. 10+ years experience on institutional projects is required. Academic, Science and Technology experience is strongly preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word Excel Project). Revit and AutoCAD experience required. Strong knowledge of codes and good planning skills. Flexibility in assignments and leading teams. Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired. Candidates who reside locally are strongly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Architecture

Experience in the areas of educational, civic, science and research facilities

Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired but not required

Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp and 3-D Studio Max but not required.

Rhino and Grasshopper experience
