Schlaich Bergermann Partner (sbp) in New York has an exciting opportunity for a creative individual to join us and contribute to our continuing growth.

The Position

  • Generate new business opportunities while simultaneously maintaining and nurturing long term client relationships
  • Pursue new clients in targeted market sectors, such as high end glass structures, stadia, footbridges, and complex facades
  • Identify prospective clients to develop quality business opportunities
  • Communicate range of appropriate architectural services that meet client needs
  • Determine and document prospective client needs by performing in depth analysis and client interaction
  • Share prospective client needs with Principals by focusing on areas of opportunity
  • Set up introductory meetings and contract opportunities with Partners and Principals
  • Maintain consistent client contact while also expanding and nurturing relationships
  • Generate referrals from existing clients
  • Actively participate in networking activities to establish and maintain industry contacts (and others) that potentially lead to projects
  • Assist firm leadership to create strategic alliances (e.g., professional design firms, contractors, developers, etc.) to better position the firm for success in achieving targets
  • Attend pre-proposal conferences and participate in the development of proposal strategy

Who you are

  • Enthusiastic, sociable, strategic, and driven with an entrepreneurial flair
  • Good organizational abilities
  • Ability to present complex issues and data with a high level of clarity and impact
  • Creative and able to think independently and on your feet
  • Preferably have established relationships in the AEC industry
  • Preferably have experience in prospecting, lead generation, promoting and selling architectural professional services
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and CRM systems
  • Available and interested in non-regular hours and willingness to travel
