Studio Zung is an architecture and design studio headquartered in New York City.  We are a team of architects, thinkers, designers, and makers inspired by a holistic lifestyle and sensuous, luxurious design.

Currently, we are seeking to expand our team in New York and hire a Junior Architectural Designer with 2-3 years of experience in the field of architecture and solid design and communication skills.


  • Collaborate with Architects/Senior Professionals in the preparation of plans and specifications of construction and/or alteration of buildings, conceptual and schematic design, and design development.
  • Work with requesters to determine requirements of projects; determine project feasibility and prepare cost estimates.
  • Develop and perform original design work utilizing specifications, sketches, and ideas on developing designs.
  • Analyze effective space utilization and manage changing demands for space needs: recommend actions to meet new requirements.
  • Assists in compiling data for comprehensive facilities use and feasibility data to be used for campus planning, capital improvement, and long-term planning.
  • Collaborate on projects, Develop design concepts and generate construction documents
  • Support project team coordination for plans, specifications, and material selections required for construction
  • Assist in preparation of scale drawing of details required for contract drawing, design development drawing, and “record” drawings on completion of construction.
  • Assist in preparation of layout and draws preliminary sketch of project to present to client.
  • Work with the project manager to meet overall project objectives
  • Assist in managing client expectations, team communication and project manager coordination
  • Work within given fees and contracts for projects and review shop drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and construction material recommendations submitted by outside architects and contractors to ensure adherence to contract and notify Architect of discrepancies.
  • Understand design vision.  Work to implement design based upon contractual agreement with client.


  • At least 3 years of professional experience using Revit or similar BIM software. Computer skills must include AutoCAD.  Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Sketch Up important.
  • Working knowledge of the design process, including compiling a set of construction drawings
  • Outstanding conceptual 3 dimensional thinking and graphic presentation skills
  • Flexibility to focus on a single client with a variety of project types or multiple, concurrent projects in various stages of development
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and can dually organize own work efforts
  • Ability to communicate design ideas and direction quickly
  • Impeccable attention to detail and strong work ethic
  • Excellent time management skills; ability to deliver work of a high standard in a timely manner
  • Strong leadership, organization, communication and relationship management skills
  • Architecture degree from an NAAB accredited school

Salary is commensurate upon experience. Additionally we offer profit sharing to employees with at least one year of employment with the studio.
