Rogers McCagg is a rapidly growing design-oriented Architecture, Planning and Interior Design firm located in Norwalk, Connecticut. We specialize in private clubs, independent schools and community/recreational athletic facilities.

Our organizational structure is horizontal assuring the candidate wide ranging exposure to all aspects of a project(s). The environment is fast-paced including daily collaboration with senior, intermediate/ junior architects, site personnel, and members of client teams in all aspects of design through construction. Work flow includes existing condition documentation and development from SD to CD, coordination with consultants and on-site construction personnel. An obvious ability to quickly translate design sketches and concepts into clear, workable details that translate efficiently into contract documents is a fundamental requirement of the candidate. Expectations, duties and responsibilities:

  • Exhibit a strong understanding of project design philosophies and interpolate appropriate aspects of design into project development
  • Perform work on basic segments of projects, including iterative refinement of details, with oversite and collaboration from partners and consultants
  • Contribute to detailed preparation of design, construction documents and filing sets
  • Contribute to the solution of general architectural problems
  • Work with project team members to check and coordinate details and dimensions in drawings and models
  • Collaborate across disciplines and trades to ensure well-coordinated projects

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2-4 years professional experience
  • Professional degree in architecture
  • Ability to consistently, professionally and reliably produce Schematic, Design Development and Construction Drawings in collaboration with a team
  • Ability to work and focus in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines is a must
  • Well rounded 2D and 3D skills including AutoCAD, SketchUp, and graphic skills including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Excel a plus
  • Revit  Proficiency- (primary workflow platform)
  • Experience coordinating Architectural sets of contract documents as part of a project team
  • Experience coordinating MEP + Structural Engineering disciplines with Architecture
  • Interior Design experience is a plus but not a focus
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills
