Jim Kurt Ereño is a multidisciplinary designer with a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Design from the University of Manitoba (Faculty of Architecture). Since graduating in 2014, he has been involved in a number of interior renovation projects with emphasis on site analysis, space planning, universal design principles, branding, and technical drawing. He possesses a strong conceptual aptitude and has participated in competitions both locally and internationally. In his free time, he likes to read about and discuss history, anthropology, and current events.

Working collaboratively with clients, licensed practitioners, and designers from schematic design to construction. Assisting with renovation and construction work, as well as making furniture and fixtures using power tools. Inspecting work in progress to ensure correct completion.

Freelance, Winnipeg, MB, CA, Freelance Designer + Draftsman

Carried out interior design projects that involved the whole construction of a commercial space. Conducted on-site measurements and produced as-built drawings and proposal documents for city approval and permitting. Composed graphic branding elements for advertising.

Entry: "Chataround". Project in collaboration with Dark Horse Architecture Inc. (Ethem Övünç Tar and Emeil Andron Alvarez).


Faculty of Architecture Photography Competition, 2nd Place

Category: black and white. Competition was in part assessed by the Winnipeg photographer Bryan Scott, in collaboration with Don’s Photo.


Little Free Library Competition, Nomination

Entry entitled "Pixelio" was selected for the Little Free Library Design exhibit at the Millennium Library as part of Winnipeg’s 2013 Culture Days. Project in collaboration with Emeil Andron Alvarez.


Atmosphere’s Student Photo Competition, Honorable Mention

Entry "Mundane" was exhibited at the Winnipeg Art Gallery during the 2013 Winnipeg Design Festival.
