With the projects here on campus and one European project, I gained a much more through understanding of architecture, as a discipline, as the most important element in cities, and also as an important carrier of culture, in the western cultural and social environment. I believe this is very important for me as I have been aquiring knowledge in a very different cultural background in China. And I gained knowledge and experience in working with relevent disciplines such as landscape and planning, which enables an open and broad vision in concieving architectural schemes.

I chose architecture because I care about the living enveronment and urban condition in China, and originally a care for the life myself and the people around me can have. I believe creating architecture in cities enables to think and work on it in a professional way. And as the more I know about it, the more urgent I feel to come abroad to a western cultural environment for a true communication. And then here I am.
