Seeking an architectural intern position in the Chicagoland area. I have 2-3 years of relevant experience; I have been involved on the sidelines in architecture for more than 10 years. But my personal responsibilities as a parent prevented me from being more involved. I hope that my portfolio demonstrates my passion, skills and resilience and an employer who appreciates these attributes gives me an opportunity to prove myself now.
I recently worked for RuckPate Architecture in a temporary position. I worked on accessibility modifications for School District 87. Prior to that, I worked as an associate for a firm in India. My responsibilities ranged from applying to RFP's, design and documentation to creating the website. I worked remotely and travelled as required. My last fulltime job in Chicago was as a Digital Design Coordinator with Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, Chicago in 2008. I was primarily responsible for ensuring quality and content of documents and coordination with consultants. I have acquired my M.Arch from IIT, Chicago.
I am enrolled in IDP and I have started studying for my ARE's. I fully intend getting licensed as soon as I am able to complete my hours. I am a LEED AP, BD+C and I have strived to stay current with green building practices. I am skilled in Revit 2011, AutoCAD, Photoshop, 3d Studio Max along with manual drafting, sketching and rendering skills. .

•Responsible for assuring quality and content of presentation and construction documents; resulting in a complete understanding of the entire project - design, technical, client and consultant issues. Managed to meet all deadlines.
•Responsible for ensuring compliance with SOM Digital Design Standards & Guidelines; in the process educated and trained team members on CAD aspects to increase productivity.
•Worked on the technical and design aspects of the project- schematic to design development sheets and presentation slides. Developed procedures for calculating areas linking excel files to an existing autolisp routine which calculated polyline areas, thus greatly reducing time and automating the area calculation process.
