These headquarter offices for Tenth Avenue Holdings were designed with the concept of layering: old with new, translucent with opaque, heavy with light, eclectic with traditional. The office is located on the top floor of what was once a wallpaper factory and warehouse and is now one of the few heavy timber construction office buildings in Manhattan.
The partner's offices are of equal size, but were designed with each person's individual tastes. A central corridor connects the main public spaces: the open workstation area, the large formal board room and the residential-style cafe space. A spine located to the interior of the space joins all of the executive offices and their assistants, the more informal atelier room, a library space, gym and small conference room to the rear.
The office was designed to create an exciting and fresh professional atmosphere while maintaining a level of comfort that would promote productivity and clear thinking.
