The library is a type of building that is familiar to us all, but the definition has started to change with the rapid growing digital age. The library still encompasses print, but is now focusing on different ways to reach out in the digital world and the community. The project is located in West Dundee with close proximity of urban and suburban. The library concept is focused on clear circulation as it relates to its parts and the larger site. This circulation directs to different programmatic spaces through the use of a large staircase with study areas. This is used for organization and filtering of circulation. The main spaces on the ends focus on community spaces such as a gallery, auditorium, and community room.
