Fire Station No. 1 in Ferguson, MO is a 24-hour Mission Critical facility. The station features a drive-through apparatus bay, 3 story training tower, community center and training room, fitness center, day room, kitchen, and individual shift bunk room suites. The structure is designed to remain operational during and after extreme natural disasters, such as tornadoes and seismic events. Sustainable design features include energy-efficient HVAC systems, natural day-lighting in every room, pervious paving, native plantings and rain gardens. The masonry and stone design is contextual and  compliments Ferguson's historic downtown. It is the only Fire Station in St. Louis to feature apparatus bay 4-fold door technology that allows for quicker exiting and enhanced response time.
