Jean Marilla studied at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles, California and has completed and earned an Associate of Arts Professional Designation degree in Interior Design. While in school, she was able to maintain a GPA of 3.74, making her graduate with a Cum Laude honor. Prior to taking up Interior Design, she already gained a bachelor's degree in Mass Communication from the Philippines.
Jean Marilla also has an experience in furniture design. Her Symmetria Chair that was manufactured by The Forge Shop won third place for FIDM's Chairing Styles 2013 competition.
