FIBERGLASS RESIN BENCH
Spring 2010, Professor Andrew Atwood
The objective of this project was to conduct different types of material studies in order to create a performative object; in this case, it was a bench. The "Glace" bench uses a minimalistic approach to its design. A simple cresent crease on a rectangular piece becomes the seating area of the bench and is self-supporting at the same time. The bench is very sturdy and structural despite having the back side completely hollow. Lightweight, water resistant, and stackable, these benches are perfect for any occasion! The Glace benches are also designed to be assembled into a variety of configurations when the units are aggregated - providing infinite opportunities!
