West Edge Architects, Marina del Rey, CA, Designer

Organized drawing set for the United Food and Commercial Workers’ headquarters in Huntington Park, a reuse project that shifted an industrially-zoned warehouse into a commercially-zoned office and community space. Tasks included mechanical, structural, glazing, and lighting layout coordination, new mechanical tower design, door and window details and schedule, details for cabinetry, light fixture bracing, site work, signage, and accessibility, and 3D modeling and rendering.

Guided master-planning, programming, and needs assessment measures with team members for the West Los Angeles College campus. Effort involved ADA accessibility overhaul of the entire campus, user group interviews, cost estimates, reprogramming of six buildings, excavation and regrading of various outdoor student activity centers, and designs for two new buildings that were integrated with the reprogrammed campus scheme.

Assembled comprehensive design package, from schematic design to construction documents, for a Playa del Rey single-family residence. Tasks included massing iterations, sun studies, structural coordination, HVAC layouts, fixture, equipment, and material research, Coastal Commission and Plan Check submissions and corrections, casework and finish details, site drainage strategies, and waterproofing and rainscreen system solutions.

Established entitlement packages for three Latigo Shores, Malibu high-end residences. On top of design schemes, packages consisted of site and grade analysis, soil cut and fill calculations, zoning and code compliance research, collaboration with LAFD on fire access, dialogue with civil engineer on grading strategies, and dialogue with landscape architect on indigenous plant integration.

Spearheaded master-planning and schematic design phase on two multi-family residential projects, one 4.5 acre, 250 unit high-density project in Azusa and one 8 acre, 350 unit mixed-use development in Simi Valley, which included presentations to city review boards for approval.
