Under the theme 'Inside/Outside'; our thesis group investigated architecture for education in Ireland. My project is a primary school sited in my (then) local area. The project aimed to make the school a local place which would engage with the public realm. 

I proposed a school on the banks of the Dodder River which would reintroduce the locality to the forgotten riverbank on the site. The school building would offer it to the public realm as a walkway that would link up with the larger piece of green infrastructure that is The Dodder Park; a linear riverside park that sweeps through South Dublin. 

In engaging with the public realm the school remains a public institution transforming with and remaining relevant to its surroundings.
