JacobsWyper Architects, leaders in innovative workplace and corporate design, recently completed this five-stage, three-year renovation without the interruption of the office and manufacturing operations. The renovation of the 196,000sf office building in West Chester, PA seamlessly integrates a workplace environment with a warehouse, coffee roasting and packaging facility based entirely on the corporate culture of Mars Drinks, increased energy performance and (pending) LEED Gold Certification.  The new living office space reinforces the open office culture of Mars and is a hallmark for this type of modern day office design.  A combination of individual and collaborative areas increases employees' productivity and their positive attitude in the workplace.  Exterior and interior renovations and upgrades resulted in a dramatic, two-story open office space that improves not only the building's appearance on the southern facade, but also boosts energy performance. Electrochromic (self-tinting) glass minimizes heat gain and glare and provides employees with sweeping, unobstructed views of the landscape, which was previously a parking lot. The renovation included the expansion of warehouse and packaging areas, addition of in-house laboratories and coffee roasting equipment.
